Medical Imaging

Medical imaging services in the Cypress Health Region can include:

  • General X-ray
  • Ultrasound
  • Computed Tomography (CT) Scan
  • Digital Mammography and
  • Fluoroscopy

The region’s medical imaging department works in conjunction with a patient’s doctor to determine the most appropriate test for each individual.

Medical images are examined for interpretation by a radiologist to assist doctors in quickly diagnosing illnesses or injuries. Medical images in the region are interpreted by radiologists at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current or, in some instances, can be interpreted by radiologists in other locations through the use of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) technology.

The Cypress Health Region utilizes state-of-the-art technology for medical imaging. Technology such as PACS allows for faster transferring of images to all departments within the region, and also allows images to be sent to physicians within the city, across the region, and all major hospitals in Saskatchewan. Numerous facilities throughout the region are currently equipped with PACS technology.
