Healthy Living programs are offered throughout the Cypress Health Region. Referrals to Healthy Living programs in the Cypress Health Region may be made by self, family, physician, nurse practitioner or other health care professional. When appropriate, referrals may be made from one health care professional to another.

Healthy Living Programs include:
Cardiac Program
- Group sessions offered several times per year
- Understand how the heart works and identify risk factors for heart disease
- Learn about exercise and active living and a heart healthy diet
- Manage emotions, thoughts and behaviours (includes stress management)
- Learn how to make positive steps towards a healthy lifestyle

- One on one & group counseling
- Label reading, portion distortion
- Healthy eating and weight management

Craving Change
- Designed for people who struggle to maintain healthy eating habits, feel they eat for comfort or in response to feelings, or for those who want to feel more in control of their eating

Diabetes Education Program
- Includes type 1, type 2, gestational diabetes and prediabetes
- Individual counselling for inpatients and outpatients
- Self-management counselling on blood glucose monitoring, nutrition, lifestyle issues, activity and medications

- Fitness for Life is a physical fitness and education program
- Focuses on exercises that promote strength, endurance, balance and flexibility
- Activity is light to moderate intensity depending on the individual

Live Well with Chronic Conditions
- A self-management program developed by the Stanford University
- Fun and practical group workshop that runs 2.5 hours once a week for 6 consecutive weeks
- Build skills for managing your health and maintaining an active and fulfilling life
- Practical suggestions and support to build confidence in coping with everyday challenges of any chronic condition
- Self-management skills include symptom management, communication skills, relaxation techniques, goal setting, problem solving
- Chronic conditions include chronic pain, arthritis, chronic lung disease, diabetes, heart disease, depression, anxiety, irritable bowel syndrome, and many other conditions

LiveWell with Chronic Pain
- A self-management program specific to chronic pain developed by the Stanford University
- Fun and practical group workshop that runs 2.5 hours once a week for 6 consecutive weeks

Living Your Best Weight
- This program is intended for adults interested in managing their weight and improving their overall health and well-being

Lower Limb Assessment
- Involves assessment of the health of the feet and legs, circulation assessment, monofilament testing, counselling and referral to appropriate professionals
- Lower leg assessments include education on diabetes foot care and peripheral artery disease

MEND (Mind Exercise Nutrition Do It!)
- MEND 7-13 is a free healthy lifestyle program for 7-13 year olds
- Combines physical activity, good nutrition and behavior change to provide families with a foundation for feeling fitter, healthier and happier for the rest of their lives

Primary Health Coach
- The Primary Health Coach provides short-term mental health and chronic condition/chronic pain coaching to adults, youth and children within the Cypress Health Region. As part of the involvement with the Primary Health Coach, services will typically consist of no more that 1-4 sessions lasting between 1-3 months. The Primary Health Coach helps individuals build confidence and provides tools to manage and cope with the struggles of a chronic condition and chronic pain.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation
- Offered twice a year spring and fall
- Participants meet twice a week for 6 consecutive weeks—one hour supervised exercise training and one hour of education
